2016 Best 9 Winter Athletes Contest!
Which high school athletes in the Ohio Valley performed the BEST this Winter season? Here's your chance to tell us!
Your nominations and votes will help us determine who is crowned this year's Best 9 Male and Best 9 Female Winter Varsity Athletes - eligible nomination categories for winter varsity sports include: Wrestling, Basketball, Swimming, Gymnastics, and Hockey.
How does the contest work?
First - between January 11th and February 7th, 2016, viewers can submit their nominations to WTOV9 stating who they think should be recognized as a Best 9 Male or Female Winter Varsity Athlete for the 2015 season.
Submissions should include the nominee's name, the high school they attend, the eligible sport they're being nominated for, and a brief description of why they are being nominated.
Nominations are unlimited, so feel free to nominate as many deserving athletes as you'd like!
Then - nominations will be narrowed down to the top 30 male athletes and top 30 female athletes. Between February 29th and March 20th, 2016, viewers can cast their votes for which male and female athletes they think deserve to win!
You can vote twice per day (one vote for a male athlete and one vote for a female athlete), so come back daily while the voting window is open to show your support for your favorite athletes!
Your votes will be used to help our judging panel determine which 9 male athletes and which 9 female athletes will be awarded this year's title of BEST Winter Athletes!
To find out which athletes are dubbed the winners of this year's contest, tune in to WTOV9 and WTOV9.com to watch the live broadcast of the 2016 Best 9 Winter Athletes Show, presented by Belmont Savings Bank, on Wednesday, March 30th at 7:30pm!
